Communications Strategy
Developed a communications and advocacy strategy for UNIDO’s Learning and Knowledge Development Facility (LKDF), designed to strengthen partnerships, position the initiative as a knowledge hub, and improve stakeholder engagement.
Data-driven: The strategy was built on a comprehensive review of previous communication phases, including their objectives, implementation, and measurable results. Performance data across channels was used to define realistic targets and optimize dissemination channels. Metrics and audience analysis shaped the messaging focus and informed strategic decisions, including priotizing high-engagement platforms and refining content formats.
Impact: A ~280% increase in website users, a tenfold increase in YouTube views, and over 370,000 annual impressions on LinkedIn.
Communications Strategy & Branding Guide
Developed a communications strategy and branding guide for UNIDO’s Maziwa Faida project, a dairy-sector skills development initiative in Kenya, to create a cohesive project identity and a practical communications system to create visibility for project and partner materials.
Approach: Developed through a review of the communications landscape in Kenya, stakeholder needs, and project objectives, which highlighted the need for clear audience targeting, structured messaging, and a cohesive project identity. This project involves Market Systems Development, meaning it focuses on facilitation. On this basis, I created a communications strategy defining priority messages, audience groups, and appropriate channels. In parallel, I developed a complementary branding guide establishing a consistent visual identity, including logo usage, typography, colour palette, and layout principles to reinforce and strengthen the messaging.
Impact: Strengthened the project’s visual identity, improved consistency across materials, and provided partners with a clear, user-friendly toolkit for producing aligned communications across channels.
